My first new blog!

 Welcome! This is a blog to help those trying to get through the fabulous MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV (or FFXIV for short), and contains guides for lots of stuff you might need in a tidy package. I want to use this blog to host some really complicated guides.

All information I got from Gamer Escape, the official FFXIV wiki, or from WeskAlber's videos on Youtube. WeskAlber has made some great video guides for the entire first arc of the FFXIV story and I highly recommend you check it out! ^_^

Entering the first expansion of FFXIV

  So... I finally did it.  I finally got my character out of 2.X and into Heavensward, the first FFXIV expansion. The cutscenes ending A Realm Reborn 's story are all so very tragic. I won't spoil it but you have to check it out. Suffice it to say, it involves losing all of your old friends save a couple and ending up fleeing to the capital city of Ishgard to hide from trouble. And OH BY THE TWELVE, ISHGARD IS HUGE!!! It's three times bigger than any of the three cities we were used to. It took me five minutes to get from aetheryte shard to aetheryte shard! And of course, I picked up the only three jobs I had not picked up - I had leveled my Scholar and Summoner to 60 to pick up Gunbreaker(the fight in that unlock quest is the hardest I had, my character DIED to him!) and Dancer - and... They start at Level 30. Yep, downgraded back to 30 and having to grind 60 levels is annoying. It didn't help that the last few Astrologian job quests were riddled with lag. I ended up f...

"I don't want your stupid money!" - FFXIV Starlight Festival 2020 thoughts

The quote in the title was quoted by a little girl you meet in Gridania if you took up the Starlight Festival quest. While Heavensturm 2021 is going on now and it's fun to participate in a FATE involving a flan shaped like traditional Japanese mochi and delivering "advent cakes" to the NPCs in Limsa Lominsa - the character I have settled as my main character started in Limsa as an Arcanist so he is somewhat intimately familiar with these people including Admiral Melwyb, who I think is the most awesome Roegdyn ever - I wanted to go back and start this blog with a discussion of Starlight Festival 2020 after hearing someone on a podcast slam it for being insensitive.
